YouTube Go app helps user browse save and share YouTube video with little or almost to no internet connection

An event held on 27-September-2013 in New Delhi, India, tagged "Google for India" Sherrie of announcement was made including an Android app called YouTube Go.

This Android app is a customized version of the popular known YouTube app. This app helps to save and share YouTube off-line videos.

Above the function of saving and sharing offline videos, it gives a full property detail of the video to be downloaded e.g gives the time to be consumed during download, video size and duration, and memory available in the download location(the SD card).



YouTube Go is built upon the previously launched Smart Offline feature for YouTube, but adds better(if not best) performance and accessibility.


The YouTube Go have two home page one for browsing or searching videos while the other is for viewing offline videos.

This app is not yet available word wide(but will eventually took out to all) , however, indian can sign up on the YouTube Go official site this will help them know when the app is launched. To sign up or register for the app launch date, ...click here to register... one would have to input his Email or phone number (see image below).



Google also claimed that the app usage is not limited to low network signal, one can stream a YouTube video without slowness, hanging and unexpected Interuption.

The YouTube Go is a brand new app to help users(next generation) enjoy and fun viewing YouTube videos.

YouTube product management VP,Johanna Wright stated: “YouTube Go was designed and built from the ground up with insights from India, in order to bring the power of video to mobile users in a way that is more conscious of their data and connectivity, while still being locally relevant and social.”
