Samsung has been introducing some of the most anticipated smartphones each and every year, and the new Galaxy S8 looks to be significantly better than the current model. With Sammy looking to take full advantage of becoming one of the 1st flagships launching in 2017, you can expect consumer interest to be at an all-time high.

With the S7 launching early 2016, it won’t take long for the official specs of the GS8 to be revealed. Despite this, we’re already hearing plenty of rumors out of Korea to suggest Samsung is looking to introduce something entirely new in the GS8 concept.

Building upon the success of both the GS7 and GS7 Edge, the 8th model is expected to significantly improve on what consumers expect the most. With more and more consumers becoming dependent on what they can hold in the palm of their hands, expect the GS8 to hold more and do more.

This seems to be the biggest difference in the upcoming Galaxy S8 concept as it sounds like expandable memory will once again be seen. It’s also rumored it both the GS8 and GS8 Edge will integrate the highly durable and versatile Active series. Aside from this, we’ll be seeing the Samsung’s best camera specs yet, expandable memory, faster processor, more efficient battery, and much more.

Below, we take a closer look at the Samsung Galaxy S8 specs, features, price, and release date info expected for the launch in 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs – 30MP Rear Camera, 9MP Front Camera, 3D, and Optical Image Stabilization Plus

The Galaxy S8 camera specs look promising according to the latest rumors which centers on the 30MP rear shooter. The 30MP camera looks like a beast improving on one of the best smartphone cameras currently on the market. It’ll look even more impressive putting the 4K display to good use that will help bring out the best in still pictures and video playback.

We’re also hearing rumors the front snapper will sport 9 megapixels. An enhanced version of OIS that may be called optical image stabilization plus will improve upon the slight movement that sometimes causes a natural blur when taking pictures.

Even more innovative are the latest rumors on a true 3D camera effect. This is believed to be selectable by the user as the choice can be made to either take 3D or 2D pictures and cinematography.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs – Qualcomm 820 SoC and 6GB RAM

Expect to see two processor variants including the highly regarded Qualcomm 820 SoC and an Exynos variant. Depending on where you live, the 820 processor will be the gold-standard of all processors seen in most high-end Android smartphones in 2017 including the GS8 and GS8 Edge.

Coupled with 6GB RAM, the efficiency, speed, an processing power will create one of the fastest processors which will fully enhance the mobile experience.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs – 5.2” or 5.4” 4K Display

The display size of the2 Galaxy S8 is rumored to come in at either 5.2” or 5.4” and sport a true 4K display. With a resolution 3840 x 2160, it’s only a matter of time before we see something bigger. We’re hearing rumors the resolution could be as high as 7680 x 4320 (FUHD), but it’s not likely in the 8th generation Galaxy S smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs – 4200 mAh Battery, Wireless Charging, and Dual Micro SD Support

With consumers needing more battery power, a 4200 mAh battery seems likely. The non-removable battery would also support an upgraded version of wireless charging which would compare to wired chargers giving users more functionality and less time to wirelessly charge their handset. The wireless charging plus feature is said to rapidly charge the handset from 0 – 50% in as little as 25 minutes, wirelessly.

It also sounds like the GS8 will bring back dual Micro SD card support. This has been a long time coming, but a necessary feature considering what we need to store on our handsets. With expandable memory giving users an extra 256GB we’ll be able to save an almost endless amount of pictures, apps, and much more all in the palm of our hands.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Features – Waterproof, Shockproof, Dustproof, Foldable Concept, and Retina Eye Scanner

One of the things missing in the previous models in the Galaxy S series were standard waterproof and shockproof features. The Galaxy S Active series offered both features along with a rugged design, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be making its way to the Galaxy S8.

Leaks out of Korea suggest the Samsung Galaxy S8 will sport both shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof features with at least an IP68 rating. This would mean the last of the Active series as we’re also hearing the GS8 and Galaxy S Note 7 will feature the same IP rating.
