George Hawkins Pember was a comtemparary of Robert Govett, G. H. Lang, and D.M. Panton, and shared many of the same unique hermeneutic principles which categorized them into a set by themselves. They were vastly ahead of their time and produced teachings which perplexed many and blessed others. It is the latter group that feels deeply indebted to Mr. Pember and his colleagues for heavenly instruction.

The value of his insights, and their applicability to succeeding generations is evident through the work for which Pember is best known, EARTHS EARLIEST AGES (Kregel Pub. Co.). Originally published in 1876, it remains in print and has survived three previous publishers.

The Gentiles, The Jews, and The Church of God (Vol. 1), the first of his prophetic series was later expanded into three additional volumes. These include, The Great prophecies of the Centuries concerning Israel and the Gentiles (Vol. 2); The Church, The Churches, and The Mysteries (Vol. 3), and; The Great Prophecies of the Centuries Concerning The Church (Vol. 4).

About the Author
Pember matriculated at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, in 1856; took the B.A. in 1860, being placed in the Second Class Classical Tripos; and his M.A. in 1863. He died July 5th, 1910, at the age of seventy-three. Though he studied the classics in his unconverted days for his own glory, after his conversion he sought to use the knowledge he had gained for the good of Gods Church.

Best Book on Revelations

This book is one of the best Ive purchased over the years. His scholarly approach to biblical prophecy is in a class all by itself. The only other book that even comes close is "Revelations Verse by Verse" by William Newell. Pembers book emphasizes that Revelations should not be a mystery, but a true revelation of what is to come and documents the background from the Old testament that make things clear and concise.

Children will enjoy poring over details in the illustrations, but the occasional sharp-eyed parent may object to the unwrapped, home-baked treats that the dinos and kids have stuffed into their treat bags. K-Gr. 2. Kids trying to avoid going as Harry or Hermione (again!) on Halloween will relate to this seasonal standout, as light as its Tyrannosaurus rex protagonist is massive. Determined to be the scariest trick-or-treater in his neighborhood, in which humans evidently live shoulder-to-shoulder with anthropomorphic dinosaurs, T. Rex frets when pals Diplodocus, Stegosaurus, and Iguanodon preempt his most frightening costume ideas. In the end, he realizes that his mouthful of "long sharp pointy teeth!" and generally menacing physique require no disguise to be scary. Gramblings pared-down language, mouth-tickling adjectives, and repeating words and story patterns are right on target for her audience, members of which arent likely to mind that this most predictable of trick-or-treat reversals is somewhat overused. Davis neatly manages potential anxieties surrounding the dinos intentions, outfitting his dinosaurs with disarming googly eyes and overbites and portraying the shrieking, fleeing human trick-or-treaters as homely and gullible. Fabulous book for dinosaur-loving kids!

Our son loves dinosaurs, so naturally when Halloween rolled around, he wanted to be a T Rex. This book is adorable! He LOVED it and we seem to read it about every night (even now that Halloween is over). It is slightly repetitive to read (lots of repeating long dinosaur names) but the story is cute. The illustrations are fun and our son just loves talking about T Rexs "long, sharp, pointy teeth." Enjoy! Great book!!

This book is a revelation!

I was skeptical at the title but this book in no way condones homosexuality. It does reveal a biblical truth in Matthew 19 that I havent ever really considered nor heard preached on. This book will open your eyes to a truth that is relevant and absolutely helpful to those struggling with same sex attraction and those that might reach out.

I am fortunate to possess his other essay books

These essays were written over ninety five years ago, most of their subjects do not exist anymore. Despite this, the essays appear fresh, because the authors commentary about human nature, his observations about people, their thoughts, emotions are very perceptive and are true even today. While circumstances change, human nature does not change within just a hundred year. I am fortunate to possess his other essay books, Windfall, Pebbles on the shore, as well as Leaves in the wind in hard back editions which i had picked up for Rs 2/- something like 1 cent, but that was nearly fifty years ago. They are my cherished possessions.
A delightful reading for all the times.
