For the third time in 2 months another change has been made in the Nigerian Data Plan Premier League Table. A couple of weeks back, GLO kicked out MTN from first position by offering extremely affordable, mouthwatering data plans. It seems all this while, Airtel was having none of it, LOL. Airtel have just introduced two new data plans and are making strong claims for top spot. These plans work on all devices, all day long.

The new Airtel plans are as follows:
The N200 plan has a data cap of 2GB while the N500 plan is capped at 6GB.
3 Things You Need to Know:
==> The plan only works on 2G network (Even if you use 4G it wont work)
==> The plans last for 14 and 28 days respectively (Its not a monthly plan)
==> The plans work on every device

In summary, I believe this plan is just a lame attempt by Airtel, at the same time very commendable. Browsing on 2G network is so 2008 and nobody likes it really. But if you are low on cash and need to get few things done, i recommend this plan. I also hope Airtel doesnt embed those notorious data zapping codes and stay true to their word.

I wonder why Globacom thought that this is the right time to officially launch their Night and Weekend Plans. The plan that has been in existence since last year December, Glo had to officially launch and renamed it — Thank Glo It’s Friday (TGIF).
Anyway, you have no reasons to lament of any data issues because you now have more than enough options of low-cost internet data plans. Glo TGIF data plan offers you 3GB for N500 usable on weekends and 1GB for just night browsing with N200.
According to a statement released from its headquarters in Lagos and made available to the media, “This unbeatable offer will be available to Glo customers from 12:01am every Saturday morning to Sunday evening at 11:59pm.
The company explained that subscribers should dial dial *777# and select ‘Buy Data’ on the menu and then pick ‘Night and Weekend Plan’ which is number 7 on the next menu page.
Globacom stated that when the menu opens to the ‘Night and Weekend plans’, subscribers should pick option 2 on the last menu which reads “N500 = 3GB for Sat and Sun."
“This is simply designed to meet the expectations of subscribers who download and upload a lot of content during weekends. We have observed that subscribers have the time to do heavy browsing on weekends, hence the TGIF bundle is designed to meet that demand”, Globacom added.

One cant use it on 3G network, available only on 2G network which is Edge(E).
Airtel 2gb for N200 and 4gb for N500 is only available on 2G network but the restricted the speed to highest 45kbs while 2G can give you upto 250kbs. Airtel 2GB for N200 and 4gb for N500 is around 35kbs and 45kbs speed.
