a loving treatment of a myriad of features

When I first received this book in the mail I was appalled. It is a "print on demand" publication, about the size of a ream of paper, and my copy has slightly fuzzy printing and photos (perhaps due to the paper or printer used by the local printer).
A few weeks later I brought it along as poolside reading for a late summer vacation to our local , (Southern California), desert. It proved to be an excellent choice. While it is written somewhat in the style of a guidebook, it is more an illustrated personal narrative of encounters with flora, fauna, people and landscapes on dozens of routes over decades of visits.
There is an incredible amount of useful information packed into this volume, but perhaps it shines even more as a deeply personal expression of love of all the animals and everything else in the park. It is well worth reading even for those of us who are not planning a visit.

About the Author
Anne L. Boedecker, PhD has been a psychologist and GLBTQQI ally and advocate for over 30 years. She practices in central New Hampshire, seeing clients from all of northern New England. As a gender specialist, she searched in vain for a book to give her clients who were considering a gender transition. Realizing that she could write such a reference herself by drawing on many years of experience working with and guiding clients through this process, she published The Transgender Guidebook: Keys to a Successful Transition. Following many requests for a more practical workbook she has now written two companion volumes, The Transgender Workbooks.

Nice, but not quite what I expected.

This is what it says - a work book. Not quite as good as I imagined it when I read her other book (The Transgender Guidebook: Keys to a Successful Transition), but it is a nice book for those that thrive on lists and details.

| We felt wed earned the jazz, and the time in beautiful Cádiz after our flight to Madrid was canceled and we spent a bumpy night in an airport hotel at JFK. Even when everything goes well, air travel is a pretty miserable experience. It took us a couple of days of good music, tapas, and manzanilla to bounce back. |

A journey through public transportation at the Tramsmusée
[By Béliza Mendes in Luxembourg, Luxembourg] When you look at old photos of Luxembourg-City you may be surprised at finding out that there used to be trams all over the city. Unfortunately they were completely removed in the 1960s in favour of buses, which were more fashionable and more economical at that time.
I love trams, so I cant help feeling that the city lost part of its character in favour of being more mainstream and modern. So it was with some curiosity that I visited the museum of public transportation, commonly known as "Tramsmusée".
Nowadays there is not just one colour of bus. Depending on the model, the operating company and even possible advertising they can range from white to red to rainbow-coloured and the occasional old-fashioned dark blue reminiscent of the ancient trams.
It would be quaint to see a few of the old rickety trams run through the city, like Lisbon and its yellow trams. Maybe they will use the old carriages on special occasions. I would definitely be in line to take a ride in one of them.
