Nice introduction.
By Wolfgang
I had very little knowledge of banking prior to buying this book. It is a good book, but has a more international (British) slant than I realized. It is well-written and served my purpose of giving me a nice overview of banking. It had a lot of information about banking in other countries, but seemed to also give plenty of information about banking in the US.

Into to Banking
By S. Probst
I was looking for a textbook to cover the very basics of banking, and this was an excellent choice. From how banks work, to interpreting their balance sheets, to regulation and trends impacting the banking industry, this book covers a lot of ground in a style that is easy to read.
